The movement of air caused by the existence of pressure gradients is referred to as air flow.In engineering fields, air flow is the amount of air passing through a given device at a given unit of time. The flow of air can also be mechanically induced. Airflow is measured using an airflow meter. Airflow is measured in liters per second, cubic meters per hour or cubic feet per hour. It can also be weighed in mass at kilograms per second. Click here for more information.

Though anemometers are used to measure air pressure, some are being made with the purpose of being used as ventilators.  They work just the same way as micro manometers, and although some models are portable, most of the anemometers are big therefore not easily portable.

Micro manometers are used in the heating and ventilating industry. Micro manometers are used in HVAC commissioning and troubleshooting. They are also used in Pitot tube duct traverses. Micro manometers are also used to measure static pressure and differential pressure measurements.  Most micro manometers are small and easily portable which makes them convenient when it comes to transportation. Choose an airflow indicator and monitor that is sensitive to changes in air pressure to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

While buying airflow indicators, you need to look for products that are user-friendly. Apart from affordability, ensure they are durable and can be easily installed. The airflow indicator should have easy visual readings to enable easy interpretation by the users. Airflow indicators such as micro manometers measure small differences in pressure changes. When buying one, ensure it measures wide ranges of air flow. A micromanometer should be able to measure and display velocity when using a pitot tube.

A micromanometer should also be able to measure pressure drops across key HVAC equipment. They should promote indoor comfort and quality and be able to perform duct traversals which will ensure accurate air flow readings.

Some micro manometers calculate the volumetric flow rate in the duct from velocity and user input duct size and shape. They can also log in data with time and date. Some also record data in duct tape transverse using sampling function.  To ensure the safety of the people working in the heating and ventilating industries, the micro manometers' flow rates need to be regularly monitored. Micro manometers are also used to detect leakage in duct pipes when production is taking place. This is very important, especially in the industry because it will facilitate the smooth running of operations.
